Frank Altomare

Frank lives on the banks of the river Thames in Berkshire. The artist has voyaged extensively throughout the British Isles, the tropical Caribbean, the numbing cold of the Artic, the balmy Mediterranean and the frigid Southern Ocean where Albatross soar.

The artist's paintings convey the atmosphere of the oceans, and the spirit of nature. His art reflects not only the immense power, but also the gentle beauty of our seas. His paintings capture shifting moods of the sea and sky.

He uses both brush and palette knife and sometimes both in one painting. The artist is largely self-taught however he received informal training at the Academy of fine Art in the city of Naples, Italy. His paintings are often full of movement and colour. The artist uses mainly acrylic or oils on canvas. His subjects are seascapes, and the natural world.
